Fourth seed Alexander Zverev continued his quest for a maiden Grand Slam title by delivering a dominant performance against American Marcos Giron at Wimbledon. The German, who finished as the runner-up at the 2020 U.S. Open and recently reached the final at the French Open, asserted his authority early on and never looked back.

In the first set, Zverev capitalized on two early breaks to seize control. He carried this momentum into the second set, racing to a commanding 5-1 lead before clinching the set with a break that was sealed by Giron’s double fault.
