Le Nguyen Huong Giang: Pioneering Architect and Visionary Leader in Sustainable Urban Design

Early Life and Education
Le Nguyen Huong Giang was born in 1979 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She pursued her education at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, where she graduated in 2003. Furthering her studies, she earned a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Vietnam-Germany University in 2013.

Professional Journey
Giang began her career in 2006 at the Vietnam Industrial Construction Corporation and PTW Design Company in Australia. Three years later, she joined the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture as part of the Center for Architectural Planning Research. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish GK Archi Company Limited on November 6, 2009, alongside Master Architect Nguyen Trung Kien. In 2012, she expanded her reach by founding GKA Myanmar Company.

Accolades and Achievements
In 2017, Giang was recognized as an ASEAN Architect, becoming the first female architect in Vietnam to achieve this distinction. Her architectural philosophy emphasizes human and social factors, focusing on harmonizing various elements within architectural spaces to create a meaningful connection to the environment.

Throughout her career, Giang has led numerous significant projects, including:

Awards and Recognition
Giang’s contributions to architecture have garnered numerous accolades. Her firm, GK Archi Vietnam, received the BCI Asia Top Ten award in 2017 and 2018, marking it as one of the top architectural firms in Vietnam. Additionally, she has been recognized for her designs at various prestigious competitions, including winning First Prize in the international competition for the architectural design of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace in 2015.

Giang’s dedication to architecture and urban planning, coupled with her innovative approach, has solidified her status as a trailblazer in Vietnam’s architectural landscape.
