As a freelance fashion designer and stylist, my path has been anything but ordinary. I’m set to graduate with an HONS Degree in Fashion Media & Industries from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, and I also hold a Diploma in Fashion Design from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore. My passion for fashion has been deeply ingrained in me since I first set foot in NAFA. Along the way, I’ve gained valuable experience through internships and collaborations that shaped my career.

My time as an intern with Louis Vuitton at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, gave me an incredible perspective into the luxury fashion world, working as a Sales Executive. I also gained hands-on experience as a fashion intern at Stylemart Bridal Pte Ltd, one of Singapore’s top bridal couture boutiques. Additionally, working as a stylist for Mediacorp’s Vasantham Deepavali Show was a rewarding opportunity to blend creativity with cultural richness.

NISWARA: A Dream Close to My Heart

NISWARA, the brand I founded, holds a special place in my heart. The journey has been filled with challenges, setbacks, and triumphs. The number of times I’ve faced failure since registering the brand is countless, but each experience has shaped NISWARA into what it is today. Representing not only my work but also a brand that people believe in has been one of the most nerve-wracking yet rewarding experiences of my life.

The love and support I’ve received over the past 10 years have been overwhelming, and I am forever grateful to everyone who stood by me. Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude.

A Milestone: Top 10 in Asia Award

I’m incredibly thankful and overjoyed to announce that I’ve received the Top 10 in Asia Young Entrepreneur 2018 Award. I’m still in awe of this recognition and the support I’ve received along the way. When I first learned about my nomination months ago, I was thrilled just to be considered. Winning the award has been an honor I never expected, but I’m grateful beyond words.

Receiving this award feels like the culmination of all the hard work, perseverance, and countless sleepless nights that I’ve put into my craft. It also serves as a reminder to those who doubted me. Grades don’t define success—passion, determination, and the willingness to embrace uncertainty do. Sometimes you don’t need a meticulously laid-out plan; you just need to trust the process.

Inspiring the Next Generation

In March 2019, I was deeply honored to be invited as one of the speakers at InspiredSME, where I shared my story as the youngest entrepreneur in attendance. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience to inspire and connect with like-minded individuals, speaking about the inspirations that drive me forward in life.

Another milestone came in 2017, when I represented Singapore as a mentor and judge at the ASEAN Startup Accelerator. It was such a rewarding experience to guide aspiring entrepreneurs in refining their business models. I firmly believe that the best part of life is learning, teaching, and giving back to the next generation.

Gratitude and Moving Forward

To everyone who believed in me and supported me throughout this journey—thank you from the bottom of my heart. This journey would not have been possible without you. NISWARA is growing, evolving, and thriving, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

For those still doubting themselves, remember: you don’t always need a clear plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust yourself, and take a leap of faith.
